While differenees in training, method and vocabulary tend to veil the fact, philosophers and linguists are converging, it seerns, on a common set of interrelated probiems. Sinee philosophers and linguists are working on the same, or very similar, probiems, it would obviously be instructive to compare notes.

Nekorištena. Knjiga se sastoji od 18 eseja poznatog američkog filozofa Donalda Davidsona koje je priredio i preveo Kiril Miladinov. Davidsonova sistematska obrada jezika potpuno prekida s idejom jezika kao nečega što može biti adekvatno ili neadekvatno svijetu ili javstvu – sve što nam je na raspolaganju da bismo autorizirali svoje izjave jesu druge izjave. U ovoj zbirci od osamnaest eseja autor istražuje što znači da riječi znače baš ono što znače, te konstruira teoriju koja zadovoljava dva uvjeta: pruža interpretaciju svih izjava, aktualnih i potencijalnih, jednoga govornika ili grupe govornika i može se verificirati bez detaljnog poznavanja govornikovih propozicioanalnih stavova. Prvih pet eseja se uglavnom bavi pitanjem kakva bi vrsta teorije ispunjavala prvi uvjet i objedinjeni su pod zajedničkim naslovom prvog poglavlja Istina i značenje. Šesti, sedmi i osmi esej sadržaj su poglavlja pod naslovom Primjene. Treći dio knjige odnosi se na pitanje može li se teorija istine za nekog govornika verificirati, a da se pritom ne pretpostavlja previše o onome što želi opisati. Slijedeća četiri eseja su filozofski rezultati pristupa istini i interpretaciji, a u posljednjem poglavlju ispituju se granice doslovnoga u esejima Što znače metafore i Komunikacija i konvencija.
